Mal is a global subject matter expert on Internet of Things (IoT) with 25+ years of IoT connected solutions experience starting with developing the market development strategy for QNX Connected Car in 1990’s which was later acquired by BlackBerry. He has been a senior executive in a wide variety of IoT start-up companies in the areas of Healthcare Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), Usage-Based Insurance (UBI), Trucking Fleet Management (AVL) and Aviation Fleet Management. Prior to joining Ericsson’s Global IoT Team, Mal was responsible for the Vertical Market IoT business solutions for Utilities, Agriculture, Smart Cities, Oil & Gas at Telus Mobility in Canada. At Ericsson, Mal is responsible for IoT Solutions and Platform sales to wireless carriers and IoT & 5G market development in North America.
Mal has a MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and B.Eng. in Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
