From moving money to moving value: How IoT and Blockchain can be used for social good
Abstract:
Interac has been exploring the concept of the transfer of value and more specifically how working with industries such as energy utilities can unlock new use cases beyond traditional money movement. Partnering with an energy utility company, we are currently exploring how using IOT enabled devices such as electric vehicles, battery, and solar panels can incentivise users to perform good behaviour that reduces green house gas emissions and the investment in energy infrastructure. The use of these IOT enabled devices and the corresponding data capture through multiple parties which is all being made possible through enterprise Blockchain translates into societal and economic benefits which today is the true exchange of value.
